Straighten Your Teeth At Home

Get a straight smile by aligning your teeth at home.

Invisible braces from Invisalign may be able to help you straighten your teeth from the comfort of your own couch. Invisalign is an alternative treatment to braces used by orthodontists to correct minor dental issues like overly crowded and widely-spaced teeth, as well as crossbites, overbites and underbites. A series of clear plastic aligners are mailed to your home with instructions that show you slowly move your teeth into proper position, inconspicuously and privately.

Instructions

1. Enter your zip code on Invialign's website to find an Invisalign preferred provider in your area. These providers have experience fitting patients for Invisalign aligners. Schedule an appointment with the orthodontist for an Invisalign consultation. Allow the doctor to examine your teeth and confirm if Invisalign will correct your dental issues.

2. Get an impression made of your teeth. The orthodontist will make a mold of your teeth that will be used to create your aligners. Get pictures of your teeth taken as well; these will be digitized and used by your orthodontist to plan how he will move your teeth into proper place.

3. Order 20 to 30 aligners and begin wearing them. Your orthodontist will send a customized plan to Invisalign that will gradually move your teeth into position through a series of aligners. You will wear each aligner for two to three weeks before moving to the next one. Wear each aligner until your course of treatment is completed and your teeth are in proper position.

4. Attend occasional checkups with your orthodontist to monitor the progress of your tooth movement and to determine the effectiveness of the aligners. Your orthodontist will use these checkups to make adjustments to your plan as necessary and to order additional sets of aligners that will then be sent to your home.
