Legally Download Music Into Itunes

Legally download and import music into your iTunes program.

Music that is in CD format can be ripped from the CD into iTunes, and is considered legal as long as you purchased the CD prior to ripping it. Once ripped, the songs are stored in your iTunes library as an Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) file that can be transferred to your iPod, iPhone or third-party media player that supports AAC files. Alternatively, the iTunes Store provides legal digital music that downloads directly to your music library once purchased. After the music download is complete, the song can be shared with up to five different computer users.
