Print Belly Bands

Bellybands are advertisements that wrap around magazine covers.

Bellybands are pieces of paper that are wrapped around the covers of magazines for advertising purposes. Readers are forced to look at the advertisement because they have to remove the bellyband to be able to open the magazine. Production costs vary widely based on the type and size of the paper you use, the type and number of inks you use and how many bellybands you want to have printed.

Instructions

1. Contact the magazine on which you want your bellyband to appear, and ask how you should have your bellyband printed to meet its specifications. Be sure to ask the magazine for its publication's measurements, including height, width and depth, so that you will know how big your bellyband should be. Discuss prices in advance so that you know how much to expect to pay to have the magazine place your bellybands on its publication.

2. Contact local printing companies to receive estimates for the cost of printing your bellybands. Ask to see samples of past work. If your company doesn't have its own in-house design team, ask the printing companies whether they have designers with whom you can work. Select the company that will provide you with the highest quality bellybands for the lowest price.

3. Work with your chosen printing company to design your bellyband. Choose your bellyband's cardstock, content, colors, fonts and any other photos or graphics. Work with your company's designer or your printing company's designers to finalize your bellyband's appearance.

4. Submit your final printing order and wait for your bellybands to be completed. Ship them to your magazine to be added to the publication.
