Find A Circumcision Doctor

Circumcision is the surgical process of removing the foreskin that covers a portion of the penis. In most cases, circumcision is an elective surgery, frequently for religious or hygienic reasons. In a majority of cases, male circumcision occurs soon after birth. However, some men decide to undergo circumcision as an adult. No matter your age, you can find a circumcision doctor trained to do the procedure.

Instructions

1. Ask an obstetrician if she will perform the circumcision as part of the care to the mother. In the United States, it's not uncommon for the obstetrician to perform the circumcision on a newborn male.

2. Consult your child's pediatrician, who will also likely be able to perform the circumcision. In some cases, the doctor will perform the circumcision on the baby while mother and child are still in the hospital. In the event of a premature birth or other concerns with the baby, pediatricians can perform a circumcision in their office at a later date.

3. Look for a clinic in your area where circumcision is one of the major surgical procedures performed. You'll easily find a circumcision doctor in these clinics.

4. Consider a urological surgeon or a general surgeon. These doctors can easily perform an adult circumcision.

5. Browse services offered through your local men's health center to find information about doctors who perform adult circumcisions. In addition, the people who work in the men's health center can answer any questions you may have about the procedure.
