2. Ask the travel agent for obscure beach locations. If they know the area well, they'll know where you should go.
3. Talk to locals. This is how you'll find out about the best beaches, restaurants and everything else. Locals know all about the best places--often off the beaten path.
4. Pour over guide books and travel websites. Many of them include information about beaches that are off the beaten path.
5. Get a map and drive around. Look on the map for beaches that seem to be off the beaten path.
