Get My Nclex Score

A would-be nurse can obtain NCLEX results in several ways.

The National Council License Examination (NCLEX) is a requirement in all states for licensure as a registered nurse or a practical nurse. The examination is administered via computer by Pearson Vue Testing Services at testing locations worldwide.

Two business days after taking the test, the candidate can request an unofficial NCLEX score online or by phone. The official score is mailed to the candidate, within 30 days of the test date, by the board of nursing in the state where she is applying for licensure. Copies of official NCLEX scores are also available from the state board of nursing.

Instructions

Request Unofficial NCLEX Results Online

1. Visit the Pearson Vue website (see Resources). This is the same website where candidates register for the exam. It costs $7.95 to access your scores online.

2. Log in using the user name and password you created when you registered for the test, and your current activity will appear.

3. Locate NCLEX in the list of current activity and click "Status."

4. Double-click the "Quick Results link" and the credit card payment screen will appear. Complete the required fields on the payment screen and click "Continue."

5. Click the Confirm Order button to submit the request, and the exam results will appear. Click the button once, or there is a risk that the credit card will be charged twice.

Request Unofficial NCLEX Results by Phone

6. Call the NCLEX results-by-phone hotline at 900-776-2539. A $9.95 charge for the service is automatically charged to the phone from which the call is initiated.

7. Follow the voice prompts to enter information about the candidate and NCLEX registration.

8. Confirm that the information is correct by pressing the required button, and your unofficial NCLEX score will be announced.

Request a Copy of Official NCLEX Results

9. Contact the state board of nursing where you are licensed (see Resources). Each state board of nursing is responsible for maintaining licensure information for nurses in that state.

10. Complete the request for an official copy of the NCLEX result. Some states charge a small fee for this service. Procedures for document requests vary by state, so follow all the instructions provided by the licensing body.

11. Submit the request for the NCLEX score according to the state's instructions, and it will mail a copy of the results to your address. You won't be charged if the scores are not available. However, multiple calls after the score is available are charged at $9.95 each.
