Have Quality Rap Vocals

Vinyl scratching is one of the effects used in rap.

Rap consists of putting spoken word to music and rhythm. It is closely associated with hip-hop music but is considered a different genre. Many consider it's beginnings with disc jockeys who needed to create appealing rhythms and insert words and phrases to hype up the crowd. In all music it is important to take care of your voice. Using proper equipment and editing techniques increase the quality of rap vocals and the overall success of a song.

Instructions

1. Set up a humidifier in the room before going to sleep to improve vocal quality.

2. Sleep eight hours. Being tired can weaken the muscles necessary for quality vocals.

3. Record with a condenser microphone and preamplifier combo set in an area with minimal background noise.

4. Bring the recording into an audio editing program to remove background noise. For low frequencies below 95Hz add a slight dip of -2dB at 200Hz. To improve the quality of high frequencies raise vocals +2dB at 1200Hz and +1dB around 4800Hz.
