Hook An Ipod Up To A Tv

Hook An iPod Up to a TV

Apple Inc. manufactures and markets iPods as a line of portable media players. Several iPod models including the iPod Touch, iPod Classic, iPod Nano (third generation and later) and the iPod (fifth generation and later) feature the ability to connect to your television. Once connected, you can view iPod media files directly on your television and listen to sound from the iPod on your television's speakers.

Instructions

1. Connect either an Apple composite audiovisual (AV) cable or an Apple component AV cable to the port located at the bottom of your iPod device. The component AV cable offers better picture quality. However, this cable is only compatible with specific iPod devices. Apple's iPhone, iPad, iPod --TV Out Support website provides information about whether your iPod is compatible with this cable.

2. Attach the component (yellow) or composite (red, blue and green) connections from the cable to available video component or composite inputs on your television. Be sure to match the colors from the connections to the colors on the televisions input.

3. Attach the audio output (red and white) connections to available audio component inputs on your television. Be sure to match the colors from the connections to the colors on the televisions input.

4. Select the inputs on your television that corresponds to the video and audio inputs used in steps 2 and 3. You can generally change the input on your television by pressing the "Input" button on the television or remote control.

5. Adjust the volume on the iPod to less than half.

6. Open and play the video file you want to display on the television.

7. Adjust the volume on the television to the desired listening level.
