Wear Make up for Prom
It’s time to get all dressed up and made up! Now the most important thing about applying your makeup on Prom night is to be happy and confident. So you may not want to try anything too drastic that you have never tried before. Looking at pictures of dramatic eye makeup from magazines and the internet helps a lot! Also do a few test runs before the grand night! Bold jewel toned dresses can look stunning with the sexy smoky eye. You can even wear a matching jewel toned shadow on the lid and a darker version or black on the crease. Creamed dresses look ethereal elegant with the bronze, sparkle, smoky eye and peachy/pink lips depending on you skin tone. Of course the dramatic red lips and simple eye makeup is a classic that always compliments the black and red dresses. Bronzer looks best with the neutral eye shadows and a peachy/pink blush looks elegant for the darker dramatic smoky eyes.
Instructions
Eyelids
1. A primer for the eyelids and around the eyes, is very important in making the eye shadow last all night!
2. Then take your eye shadow brush and apply the shimmery lighter eye shadow on to the lid. Use a angled eye shadow brush and apply the darker contour color to the crease ¾ from the inner corner. Use the shimmery light eye shadow to rim around the lower lashes to add a dramatic effect.
3. Next use your ring finger to gently blend along the crease, so the two colors are seamless. Always use the ring finger around eyes, it is the most gentle finger. Blending is key to the smoky eye look!
4. Then take a whitish pearly color to highlight your brow bone and dab a bit in to the corner of the eyes and even the outer eyes to give that ethereal glow.
5. Start with the upper lid and line in between the lashes. Inner corner to outer. Make the outer corner thicker and don’t line all the way to the inner corner, unless you want that extreme look. Dot along the lower lashes lightly, you can always add more, this is key. Make sure you have more eyeliner on the upper lids than the lower lashes.
Lashes, Cheeks and Lips
6. Long sexy lashes complete this look. Curl the eye lashes, hole for at least 8 seconds. Wipe off the excess mascara on to a tissue. Start at the base of the outer corner gently move back and forth up to the tips of the lashes and work your way to the inner corner. Apply several coats and use and when dry use an eyelash comb to work out clumps
7. Wait for top lashes to dry and then coat the bottom lashes, using the same wiggle back and forth movement. The wiggle is important to coat the lashes evenly.
8. Bronzer/blush is next. Apply lightly, this is key with blush, you can always apply more. Tap off excess then start at the check bones and sweep in a circling motion to the apples of your cheeks. If using bronzer do the same, but lightly swipe some along your nose, forehead, and chin. Translucent powder is the finishing act and now you look flawless!
9. Top it off with a moisturizing chap stick, follow by a lip gloss. No need for lip liner, since you are going to be eating dinner and laughing and talking all night. Just bring your lip gloss for touch ups.
