Play "Yankee Doodle" on Guitar
Play the guitar. Learn a few simple songs. Play these songs on your guitar. "Yankee Doodle" is one melody that you can play without much musical knowledge.
Instructions
1. Pick up your guitar. Hold it with your left hand under the narrow portion near the end and the bow part resting on your knee.
2. Place your palm under the guitar. Make sure your fingers can reach the strings. Notice there are divides in the guitar. The name for the divides is "frets". You will be using the first three strings and the first three frets to play "Yankee Doodle".
3. Press the first string of the second fret with your left hand and pluck that string with your guitar pick. Repeat. This is the "C" note.
4. Put your finger on the third fret of the second string and pluck with guitar pick. This is "D". Now pluck first string without pressing any fret. This is "E". Hear how the different notes make a melody.
5. Play the third string without pressing a fret. This is "G". Play the second string without pressing a fret. This is "B". Put your finger on the first fret, first string. This is "F". Put your finger on second fret, third sting. This is "A".
6. Practice putting the notes together to hear the melody. Play C C D E C E D. Continue with G C C D E C B. Now the third line, G C C D E F E D. Finish with the last line, C B G A B C C. Play "Yankee Doodle" again.
