Iron On Logos On A Crocheted Blanket

Use an iron to attach a logo to a crocheted blanket.

A school or monogram logo can add the perfect finishing touch to a crocheted afghan. You can attach an iron-on logo or image to a crocheted blanket once the blanket is complete. A logo can personalize the blanket if you are giving it as a gift. You can also crochet a striped or patterned blanket using the colors from your favorite sports team, then add the team's logo as a finishing touch.

Instructions

1. Spread the blanket out on a flat surface, and determine where you would like the logo to go. Most blankets look best with the logo in a corner, but choose the area that looks best to you. If you have dropped a stitch or the blanket has another small flaw, consider covering this spot with the logo.

2. Place the parchment paper on the ironing board. Top the paper with the blanket, positioning the spot you have selected for the logo on top of the paper. Do not allow the crochet stitches to stretch out of shape.

3. Place the logo on top of the blanket. Heat the iron on the synthetic setting, which may be called the polyester or nylon setting, depending on your iron.

4. Cover the logo with the towel. Place the hot iron on top of the covered logo and hold it for one minute, or the time designated by the logo manufacturer. Pick the iron up and move it to another spot on the logo; some logos are larger than others and may require you to move the iron multiple times.

5. Remove the iron. Allow the logo to cool thoroughly, then remove the towel. Double-check all edges of the logo to be sure the entire piece is bonded to the blanket; repress if needed.
