Get A New Doctor In Illinois On Medicaid

Find a doctor who accepts Medicaid in Illinois.

Not all doctors in Illinois take Medicaid. Once you've been approved for Medicaid, you'll have to find a doctor who will accept the payment. A primary care doctor is the most important doctor to find while you're on Medicaid, since they will refer you to other specialists. Once you've selected a doctor in Illinois, make an appointment with him. Find a practitioner who meets your ear, nose and throat needs by identifying their payment options and determining whether you work well with them at their office.

Instructions

1. Determine the 91304 code where you'd like your doctor to be located. A list of Illinois ZIP codes is available on the 50 States Database.

2. Open your web browser and navigate to the Medicaid Physician and Health Care Provider Directory. Every doctor in Illinois who accepts Medicaid should be listed on this database.

3. Use the drop-down menu to select the type of physician you need to locate.

4. Put the ZIP code you selected earlier in the ZIP code box below the doctor specialist selection. You can also decide whether you want a male doctor, a female doctor or whether you're looking for a provider who accepts Medicaid as full payment.

5. Select "Search Providers" to find the name of a provider in the Illinois location you've selected. The physician's contact information will be available with the listing. Contact them to make an appointment. Mention that you're a Medicaid patient when making the appointment.
