Renew Children'S Medicaid In Texas

About 2 months before your children's Medicaid expires, you'll get a renewal notice in the mail. This notice is sent with enough time to return the proper information back to the Texas Department of Human Services. To learn renew your child's Medicaid health insurance please read this article and follow the steps.


Instructions


1. FILL OUT THE ENTIRE FORM:


Fill out one renewal form (either English or Spanish) with all the proper information. Fill everything out and sign and date it towards the end.


The renewal notice will come with an English renewal form, a Spanish renewal form, and a letter stating what needs to be included along with the renewal form. The top portion of the letter will need to be cut where it indicates.


2. MAKE COPIES:


Make copies of all the documents that are required for the Medicaid renewal. Make copies of your check stubs for the last 60 days for all incomes that you've listed on the renewal notice. Also make copies of expenses that you have listed (if any) on the renewal notice. Expenses would include child support and alimony.


3. REVIEW THE INFORMATION:


Go over the information that you will turn in to make sure there are no errors. Make sure you filled out the form completely for all children. Make sure that you've made copies of all of the information that they have requested in the letters. If you have questions about what you need, then call your local department of human services. Their phone number should be at the top portion of the letter. Their phone number should also be in the phone book.


4. GET IT TOGETHER:


Get all your paperwork together and insert it into the envelope that was provided. The address for the Texas department of human services should show through the window of the envelope. Once all the proper information is inside the envelope with the correct address displaying you can seal the envelope. No postage necessary.


5. DO NOT WAIT:


Mail it quickly so that there are no delays with renewing your child's Medicaid. Also, mailing it with enough time will give the department enough chance to notify you in case there is additional information that they need from you before the current Medicaid expires.
