Install A Rock Band Guitar

The process of installing a guitar controller for the "Rock Band" video game varies, depending on what console you're using to play the game. "Rock Band" was made available for the Sony PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360 video game consoles. While installing the guitar always involves pairing the controller with the console, the steps are a little different for various gaming systems.

Instructions

1. Connect your "Rock Band" guitar controller cable to the front of your console, if you're playing Rock Band on the PlayStation 2. "Rock Band" guitars packaged with the game for the PS2 have cables permanently attached to them; these plug directly into the front of the console, just as any other wired controllers.

2. Insert batteries in your controller, if you're using a wireless guitar controller for the PS2, PS3, Wii or Xbox 360. The guitar controllers for these versions of "Rock Band" are wireless, meaning they do not connect to your console via a cable.

3. Sync your controller, if you're using a wireless one for the PS2, PS3, Wii or Xbox 360. Wireless controllers for the PlayStation 2 require a wireless transmitter to be plugged into the front of the console. Once this is plugged in, turn the controller on and it will sync automatically. For the PS3, Wii and Xbox 360 simply press the "Sync" button on the controller to wirelessly connect it to your console.
