Get Rid Of Scars Without Surgery

As you get older, it's not uncommon to get scars. You may have scars from acne or simple injuries. If you're concerned about your scars and want to get rid of them you have many options available to you, including surgery. But surgery costs money and may have side effects, so here are some ways to get rid of scars without surgery. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Be patient. Over time (months to years) scars will fade. The body continues to replace the scarred skin over time.

2. Try a silicone based scar sheet such as the ones made by Neosporin. With these, you place the scar sheet over the scar and wait for the scar to soften. It may take several weeks for this to happen.

3. Think about using a product with ingredients that exfoliate (removing the upper skin level) such as Alpha hydroxyl or lemon juice. However, be careful about rubbing your skin with rough products--this may make your scar worse.

4. Use make up to lessen the appearance of scars while you're waiting for them to fade. A professional cosmetologist can help you choose the products and colors that will hide your scars.

5. Massage the scar. Many people claim that Vitamin E treatments get rid of scars (which it may). But many experts think it's simply the massaging of the scar with a lubricant (like Vitamin E or cocoa butter) that breaks up the scar tissue and helps it to fade away.
