Find a dentist that accepts Medicaid.
Most hospitals accept Medicaid as a form of payment for health services that are provided. However, many individual practitioners do not. For this reason, when you need to see a dentist, it is wise to research in advance to find one that accepts Medicaid. The quickest way to find a dentist that accepts Medicaid is to ask other friends and family members who also have Medicaid. If you don't know of anyone, there are other ways to locate a provider.
Instructions
1. Visit the Medicare website, Medicare.gov. Click the "Facilities & Doctors" tab.
2. Click the "Find A Doctor" link to access the Healthcare Provide Directory.
3. Select "Dentistry" from the "Physician" drop down list. Enter your ZIP code or city and state in the "Location" box.
4. Click "Search Providers" to view the list dentists in your area that accepts Medicaid as a form of payment.
5. Contact your state's Department of Health & Human Services or your state's Medicaid Division to find a dentist that accepts medicaid. Often, you can locate a dentist by accessing resources on your state Department of Health & Human Services or Medicaid Division website.
6. Contact local dentist offices directly. Ask the office representative whether or not medicaid is accepted.
