Set Up A Dlink Di624 Router

Set Up a D-Link DI-624 Router

When you set up the D-Link DI-624 wireless router you will create a wireless connection to the Internet for your house. After you have set up and configured the router you will be able to access it via multiple devices. Any computer or device that can wirelessly connect to the Internet will be able to recognize the Wi-Fi connection and browse the Internet once connected. The D-Link DI-624 is useful in providing Internet access without the need for cables.

Instructions

1. Connect the power supply to the router. Connect the DSL cable from the router to your phone line via the DSL connector. Insert an Ethernet cable into "LAN PORT 1" and the other end into your computer (this is temporary just to set it up). Turn the router on and then your computer.

2. Open a web browser and navigate to "http://192.168.0.1." Enter "admin" as the username and leave the password blank. Click "OK." Click "Run Wizard."

3. Click "Next," then set up a password for your account. Click "Next," then choose your time zone and click "Next." Wait for the connection to begin.

4. Click "Next" unless your Internet service provider (ISP) has provided a static IP, PPPoE or PPTP client for you. Click "Next." Enter the details for your connection as provided to you by your ISP. These details will connect your device to the Internet. Click "Next."

5. Choose a form of Wi-Fi protection such as "WEP" and then designate a passphrase to access the Wi-Fi network. Click "Next" and then "Restart." Click "Close." You can now disconnect the Ethernet cable and connect via the wireless card in your computer if it has one. When prompted, enter the passphrase you set in the Wi-Fi protection settings.
