Use A Usb Microphone In Cake Walk

Microphones can be used through USB to record audio.

Cake Walk's Sonar is an audio processing application designed for recording and production. Users are able to record through various audio interfaces and edit their work in the program. It is also possible to record audio with USB microphones. These microphones connect to the computer through the USB jacks and transmit audio data through them. The only requirement to use a USB mic in Cake Walk Sonar is that the device drivers be correctly installed.

Instructions

1. Connect the microphone to the computer without having Cake Walk open. The device will automatically install its drivers. When the drivers are done installing, open Cake Walk.

2. Click the "Options" menu and select "Preferences." In the "Audio" menu, select the USB microphone as the main input source. Exit to the main project window.

3. Create a new audio track and arm it for recording by clicking the record button next to the track name. The microphone will now pick up audio and record it.
