Make Scars Look Better

Scars are common blemishes caused by damage to the skin that can happen because of a wound, pregnancy or simply physical growth that happens during adolescence. Depending on where your scars are, there are things you can do to conceal them or make them look better and less noticeable. It is important to start working on the appearance of a scar as soon as it appears, because this will reduce its prominence in the future. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Apply a body lotion to the affected area and massage it in gently for five minutes every day or night. This can help to improve the appearance of scars by decreasing redness and inflammation of the area and promoting circulation and repair of the damaged tissue.

2. Mix coconut oil and lavender oil and apply to the scar everyday. According to Home Remedies, these oils provide a natural way to reduce scar marks. Olive oil can also be used if you don't have coconut and lavander oil.

3. Find some make-up concealer to match your skin tone and apply this to the scar and blend it in to the surrounding area of skin to conceal the appearance of the blemish. You can also purchase specialist body make-up which has been designed to be thick enough and durable to cover up blemishes on the body like scars.

4. Seek professional help from a cosmetic surgery if you want to take a more drastic but effective way to make your scars look better. A cosmetic surgeon can perform laser therapy or a skin graft, depending on the type of scar you have and your own personal needs.

5. Wear the right clothes to help you conceal your scar. For example, if you have a scar on your neck, treat yourself to some nice scarves to draw attention away from it. Similarly, if you have scars on your hips following a pregnancy, find a two-piece bathing suit which has a longer top and high-rise bottoms.
