Wrap Ankles With Ace Bandages

Use an Ace bandage on your ankle if you have an injury.

Ace bandages are elastic bandages that can be used on a wrist or an ankle if an injury occurs. The bandage works by applying extra pressure to the area to increase support and help reduce swelling. Ace bandages either come with some metal clips to keep them in place or self-adhering material. If you have an ankle injury, you will want to make sure you wrap it properly.

Instructions

1. Place one end of the Ace bandage just above the ankle bone and hold it in place with your free hand.

2. Wrap the Ace bandage around the top of the ankle two times, overlapping the bandage, so it will stay in place. Let your free hand go once this is complete.

3. Spiral the Ace bandage downward over the ankle bone until you get to your heel.

4. Switch to wrapping your ankle in the shape of a figure eight, so it goes around the bottom of your foot and then back around your ankle.

5. Stop wrapping your ankle in the figure eight pattern when you run out of bandage. Secure the bandage in place with the two provided metal clips if the Ace bandage is not self-adhering.
